استفاق سكان موسكو، صباح اليوم 11 مارس/آذار، على مشهد من الدمار خلفته طائرات أوكرانيا المسيرة في هجوم وصف بالأضخم منذ بداية الحرب.

وخلف الهجوم أضرارا واضحة في عمق العاصمة الروسية وعدة مناطق سكنية وحيوية. كما تم إجلاء بعض العائلات من المنازل المتضررة وتقديم الدعم لهم.

وتوقفت حركة القطارات في إحدى ضواحي موسكو، بسبب الأضرار التي لحقت بالبنية التحتية، مما زاد من حالة الفوضى والذعر بين الناس.

وفي الوقت الذي كانت فيه موسكو تحاول استعادة بعض من هدوئها، تزامن الهجوم مع زيارة وفد من منظمة الأمن والتعاون في أوروبا، ما أضاف بعدا سياسيا لهذا التصعيد.
